Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Buy one if you can find one The first thing to notice is how rarely a used copy of this lens ever shows up. If you snagged one, you keep it. It is the fastest Four Thirds lens and works wonderfully wide open. No need to stop this lens down for sharpness. The quality is there at 1.4. It's huge for what it is and heavy and so what. It's quality is as good as it gets. A truly lovely lens. There's only one flaw. The minimum close focusing distance is quite a bit longer than other 25 mm lenses and zooms at 25 mm. If this lens could focus closer, it'd be the best ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from The Leica Look There are really only two reasons to buy this lens: it takes amazingly clear, sharp pictures, and it does so at very wide apertures. If you don't need one or both of those attributes, look elsewhere. If that's what you're in the market for, though, then you simply can't beat this lens. It's the last word in 4/3rds glass, the standard that every other lens passing through 25mm aspires to. The few negatives: The auto-focus is noisier than I expected and not terribly quick unless done in full daylight, but the fly-by-wire manual focus is silky smooth and very accurate. As the other review mentions, the focus stops at a distance that might surprise you a little the first time you try to get really close to something. It's also heavy, much heavier than I expected, easily outweighing my camera body--an Olympus E-P1--but I suppose that's to be expected in order to get that f1.4 aperture and complete lack of distortion. The bottom line: if you value aperture and that dreamy Leica look above all else, you couldn't buy a better lens.
