Amprobe VP-600SB NON CONTACT VOLT PROBE is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from life saver having owned this type of tester, i can say that i believe that this tool from amprobe is the best i've tried yet. honestly this particular tester has saved me more than once. for example; i needed to get into a j box for wire reoair/replacement. i checked circuits and breakers and turned off appropriate breakers. when i went back to the box i tested for any voltage present, and found some. it was a 277v. circuit from another panel that was added later and not marked. all i can say is thankyou for this tool. dk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this product is easy to use and has great quality This is a great product for your tool box or in your pocket when you are working on replaceing light switches or outlets . They let you know that the power is off for sure. This tool also works great for checking out wireing in electronical equipment to see if you are getting power to the device. I would not work on electrical eqiupment with out it .I was a millwright and this was one tool that I counted on for troubalshooting machines if they would not run, that is because i was not an electrcian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product. I bought one of these after I had bought another "reputable" company's tester and the end broke off. This is a valuable tool for me as my wife and I bought a 125 year old house and I have to completely rewire the entire house. After I get done running the wiring this tool helps me identify the wiring and label the breaker box efficiently for when I need to shut off a specific breaker to work on something, and I can use it to confrm the wiring I am working on has been de-energized.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but could be bettter I have purchased several of these units over the years and they have worked well with a couple of exceptions. Pocket clip needs to be stronger that is the first to go and break off. The second is the battery cap won't stay on. tried taping it on and finally drilling holes and putting 3/16" brass screws in to keep the cap on. Like it best for light ,sound and vibration with no on off switch

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn't be without this tool doing anything electrical!! I work as a handyman and do many different types of repair work. This tool is the first I reach for when doing anything electrical. When tracing wires in insulation filled attics, this lets me know in a second whether the wire is hot or not. Great for testing whether or not a circuit has been isolated, and by the speed of the chirps you can get a feel for the amount of voltage present.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Staying Safe We just bought a home that had been rewired by someone that thought they knew what they were doing. NOT! Using the Amprobe VP-600 SB Non-Contact Volt Detector kept me safe by detecting live wires that we were sure should have been dead with the breaker being turned off. This tool is a MUST for any home owner that plans to do any electrical work. It will save your life!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like they say it does. Too many similar testers often do not work as stated. They may be too sensitive or not senseitive enough. As a result you often have to recheck several times or be so careful using it it wastes time. As a professional engineer, who is used to working with instruments, the VP-600 sb is easy, accurate, and dependable. I have one handy so even my girlfriend can use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An absolute "must have" for your toolbox or shirt pocket ! If you are not sure you have a "live" or dead electrical circuit, this little jewel will let you know real quick. No metal probes, electrodes or anything that could possibly cause an arc flash from short circuiting or ground to hot wire side contact. Just move this non-contact volt detector near a "hot" circuit and it chirps like a cricket !
