Distributed I/O stations are signal modification devices that act as an interface for signals between field devices and process control systems. The individual components, that is, the I/O modules, adapters, and power supplies, are plugged into the slots on the backplane. The EtherNet/IP™ adapter, 1719-AENTR, forms the interface between the I/O modules and the process control system. Power supplies are used to power the I/O modules and adapters.
