Mersen's Type R fuses are current-limiting, high-interrupting capacity fuses designed to protect medium-voltage motors and motor controllers against short circuits. Type R fuses are emergency fuses with minimum breaking capacity and require coordination with starter overload relays. Typically, the starter manufacturer specifies the size of the Type R fuse. These fuses are available in single, double, triple or quadruple cylinders of 3" diameter with end caps designed to bolt directly to busbars or connection plates.
