A sealing locknut is used to secure rigid metal conduit (RMC/IMC) or fittings to an enclosure in wet or washdown areas while also sealing the entry to prevent water, oil, or dust from migrating through the threaded connection—for example, where conduit enters a NEMA 4/4X junction box on outdoor equipment.
