Generac 5734 GP15000E 15KW PORTABLE is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I thought. Needed to go with a larger unit than what I had due to geothermal system. Wanted something to fill up, plug in, and hit transfer switch. This unit gives me ample power for the heat, a/c, well, and the other critical needs. Would like to had a home standby unit but could not justify the cost due to where electrical service was and where gas service was located. The hookups were the killer for a home standby unit, not the cost of the unit itself. This unit will provide everything I need and then some. Have not run full load test yet but smaller loads were handed spot on. Usually power outages in our area run 5-24 hours so this unit will be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Envious Neighbors I got tired of having to reley on my electric company to supply power if the wind blew the wrong way. So I researched and decided to buy this unit. Now all the neighborhood comes running with extension cords to plug in for power. And I have power to spare while supplying our entire house, well pump, water heater, wifes hair dryer, stove, washer and dryer and all the essential items also. Unit is easy to move around for wife who is 5'2" tall 120 lbs. Set up is easy,as for installing the wheels just shimmy unit back on supplied pallet, install axle brackets slide in axle tilt unit back, slip on wheels then rock back on wheels install front resting stand and wheels are on. Its that simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to operate and runs the whole house. In order to run the entire house (4,000 square feet 5 bedrooms), I had a new panel installed in my house and bought the 1500E. Minimal assembly was required. Be aware this is a heavy generator, so you will need help unloading. Runs perfectly. The only issue was that it cut off unexpectedly during a test run and wouldn't do anything - turnover, etc. After referring to trouble shooting section, I checked the fuse - it was broken. Do your self a favor and buy some extra fuses... $2 can save you some headaches. Already have 80 hours on the unit after Hurricane Irene and this October 16" of snow we got in Jersey, so I am loving this generator. Two of my neighbors are buying the same unit after hanging out at my place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy & Reliable Operation Assembling the product was easy and took about 45 minutes. I found the generator to start easily and it took no time for it to provide power to my home during a power outage. My 15,000 watt generator provides me and my family the safety and comfort we were looking for in the event of an emergency. This is the second Generac I have owned, my first one was a 1987 model 5,000 watt which I sold to purchase my new model. I highly recommend purchasing one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wheels/Axel Need Work I bought this generator through home depot very easy purchase and delivery. The only suggestion I could make to Generac is that I would make a larger axel and increase the wheel size and replace with pneumatic tires. Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing. you can purchase pneumatic tires through a local shop and change them out! i just think Generac should just have it come standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems quite good at this point. Have only run a few tests in the first 3 days of owning. Time will tell as to reliability and durability. Price reasonable. Noise level is pretty high but placement is critical. and in our case not a significant issue. Looked at others, but this seemed to exhibit best combination of size, price, reputation, and warranty. So far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny Our family bought 1 of these (as well as a few of other sizes) for back-up power after "Snowtober 2011" left us in the dark for 6 days. Our home has 2 heat pumps w/aux heat, and electric hot water. I wanted a unit that would be able to keep us warm, and this fit the bill. This is a BIG unit, upon delivery, 2 people are needed to assemble. We connected to the whole house through an interlock kit in the main panel and monitored load, we just used it for the first time after Sandy roared through- we ran our critical circuits as well as the hot water heater, TV/DVD, lighting and the stove. We ran each heat pump independantly due to load (10000 watt aux)The unit perforfmed flawlessly except for a resonating heat shield I had to creatively rectify. We put 95 hours on during a 5 day blackout. The sound level is tolerable for overnight use, overall very pleased with the quality, performance, ease of use (love the electric start!) and that they are Made in USA. We are electricians so we did all the work ourselves,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing can take the load. Excellent product. If you want a portable generator that can take just about any kind of load you can throw at it, this is it. It took the load of an electric dryer, a roast in the oven, a load of cloths in the washing machine with lights on in several rooms at the same time. I checked the voltage and frequency under this load with my meter. It was dead on 60 HZ at 242 volts. It didn’t even seem to be working that hard.
