Flir E8 E8 Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera, Res: 320 x 240 is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beneficial; it uncovers issues you may not have known prior to using it. It is a serious investment. A colleague convinced our department to purchase a unit. At first, we were just poking around with it but while doing so we uncovered issues that we were unaware. It does require some training or experimenting as incorrect user settings can flaw your results. The value of emissivity and the use of emissivity values create a focal point for additional investigation that can make the difference between success and failure. The first email from the company representative indicated the possibility of free online training- I think this is a valuable resource and necessary for all who purchase and use this product. I will definitely take advantage of their offer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The camera works good but the sofware needs polish We have to take images of our electrical panels. Some of these are not located in convenient spots. This means that we have to take several photos of one panel and try to stitch them together. This works about 50% of the time. We then are usually force to take the same pictures over again to try to match it up in the software. Tried contacting tech support and they gave some tips. I'm still having issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from FLIR E8 Well built camera. Lacks a SD card and having to plug camera into computer to retrieve photos is cumbersome. Software is buggy on my camera as it fails to consistently boot up and many times an error message pops up on start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FLIR I8 for home inspection use Have been using the camera now for about 2 years. It has become an invaluable tool in our home inspection business finding issues we could have never found with our bare eyes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Camera I'm really enjoying using the E8 camera very user friendly. There are two things I would like to suggest, 1st I like being able to lock in the temp scale but I would also like to be able to manually adjust the scale ( high/low span) on the camera and 2nd some kind of clip would be nice. When I am inspecting I often have the camera and a clip board it a Clip would be nice so I wouldn't need to put the camera down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ahead of the crowd My use of an E8 has been very helpful in finding otherwise hidden conditions. The high resolution and crisp focus has been a great combination with the most excellent MX system. The rating does reflect a couple shortcomings of minor concern. the lack of a removable memory card can be inconvenient for sharing photos among other computer devices. The camera constantly refuses to be recognized by the computer software on my apple computer, which is apparently a problem with the software as the camera is recognized by the Apple Photo software and easily allows for direct download of images into the Apple software. The "better" Flir software has an additional charge for use which is ridiculous for such an expensive device. Flir customer service suggested I send the camera back as a p;possible device problem, but that would leave me without its use for weeks, and cost significant shipping costs, which is not helpful since it works fine with the computer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from E-8 Nice camera with good range of pixels and very good resolution for its price range. Easy to use both capturing and transfering images to the computer. My only negative comment is it doesn't have a tripod mount!!! How did that get overlooked? Is there a product retro-fit available?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great instrument We were using an older competitor's product. My engineer was not happy with the results. After doing some research, I presented the E8 as an alternative. I am very impressed with the built in features, but post processing has become a breeze. Great product, and very good support.
