Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Beekeeper's Buddy The Flir camera I recently purchased is an incredibly useful tool to my beekeeping business. I remove nuisance hives from walls and structures and the camera allows me to pinpoint the hive and do precise demolition rather than ripping and tearing into walls trying to find the bees. An awesomely useful tool!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from More or Less a Handyman Tool I was disappointed with the image quality 174x220 not sure this image can be shared with customers or used in reports at this size. Capturing the image was my primary reason for purchasing this model over the other at this price range. However, the TG165 did spot areas with temperature differentials that required attention during my home inspection. I am not sure the IOS version would have been a better choice but at least the image quality would have been an improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful. Far better than an IR gun No comparison to an IR temp gun. Lets me see the WHOLE picture w/o relying on individual temps of items in areas easily missed with a Red dot/area....ie... radiators, electrical wires, modules, coolant hoses, blockages etc.... Helps me locate automotive electrical shorts in a fraction of the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential Tool IR cameras are within the price range so that NO technician should be without one. Be it air conditioning, automotive cooling systems, electrical panels/connections or whatever, This is now a must. I require all of my techs to have one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for bare minimum use You can not get a very good image quality out of the resolution provided by this thermal camera. But it is good enough to locate heat sources and find their surface temperatures. Features such as storage of thermal images add some value to the product. A good low cost device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A big upgrade from an infrared thermometer This is a big upgrade from a spot thermometer and is a good value for the price. However, I much prefer my FLIR IOS camera for most things. It is able to take pictures to overlay the thermal scene and this FLIR TG165 is not. Also, I wish it had more than the three color schemes. It would be nice to have red for hottest in scene and blue for coldest in scene; like the FLIR IOS model. But as a spot thermometer this model is better. It has a converging pair of lasers that allow you to pinpoint the measurement spot and get the exact same distance every time by paying attention to the rotation of the two laser dots. Also, this is a very solid handheld unit that I am not afraid of dropping; unlike my iPhone coupled with the very small FLIR IOS unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every electrical contractor should have this I can't tell you how many times this tool has saved me from finding problems quickly and easily. Don't waste your money on other brands. Flir is a name you can trust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So handy troubleshooting in industrial plants With a back ground in repair of industrial equipment I've learned temperture is a great trouble shooting tool and in the past have always relied on digital thermometers. So when I was introduced to the Flir handheld with thermography I just had to have one. I have found the unit easy to use and increases the speed of troubleshooting since you see so much more.
