Klein Tools Tape Measures offer inventive first-rate features derived from jobsite professionals, to make jobs easier and more efficient. A magnetic double hook has a center top portion for hanging onto conduit right side up and upside down, while a 1-1/4 inch flared hook was designed specifically to pass-through 1-3/8 inch holes drilled for 1 inch conduit. This large magnet profile attaches to steel and along EMT conduit. A sealed tape brake panel is large enough to allow 2-3 fingers to operate at once for safe retraction, and keeps water and dirt out to prevent tape blade rust and degradation. The high impact rugged rubberized industrial design offers a better grip and stands up to any task the jobsite demands.

I’ll start with my top three favorite features.
The feature that really stands out is the bold lines every 1/8” that make quick, at a glance measurements possible. These lines are great in low-light conditions and when reading at a distance.
The speed brake on the bottom is also appreciated, it feels solid and responsive at slow and fast retractions. The button is large enough for 1-2 fingers and feels ergonomic when in use..
The other feature that really makes this pretty cool is the Conduit Bending Multiplier Table on the bottom of blade, it is convenient having that handy.
Construction feels solid. I have thrown, dropped, slid, and crushed this tape and operation still feels new. Also, the orange body makes it easy to find tape at night. The metal pocket clip meets expectations, but I would have preferred a thick rounded wire clip. That style is more comfortable when used with belt. The nylon coating on tape is advertised to protect printing on tape, but I don’t think I’ve used it long enough to see benefit. I do however think that it helps keep the blade clean as it has been easier to wipe off mud and dirt. The magnetism on the hooks is the perfect balance. Strong enough to stay where you want it, but still easy enough to remove. I was able to get the 9 1/2 FT standout as advertised. 1.10 lbs is completely acceptable.
This tool is made overseas. I would suggest checking out the “American Manufacturing” page on their website. I believe the information there will strengthen your confidence when buying from Klein Tools.
As an apprentice electrician I’ve started down the rabbit hole of tool collection. I’m happy to have gotten such a great tape measure early in my career and I do highly recommend it to others. Three others on the job with me now each have one of their own. Great quality and great value.
